18 Wheeler Driver Died When Forced Off the Road

Each year in the United States, there are more than 400,000 vehicle accidents involving large trucks. In many of these cases, occupants of passenger cars involved in these wrecks – or even the truck drivers themselves – end up dead as a result of such a powerful collision.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 28, two 18-wheelers were involved in an accident on Interstate 35W in Fort Worth, Texas. According to local media outlet CBS DFW, the incident occurred at around 9 a.m. when one tractor-trailer was reportedly forced off the highway by another while traveling southbound near Heritage Trace Parkway.

The 18-wheeler flipped over onto its side and came to a halt on a grassy shoulder, and the driver was found dead inside the cab. Law enforcement officials said they believe that the man operating the other truck continued driving. The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating the incident.

Fortunately, no other injuries were reported, but the southbound lanes of the highway were shut down for several hours while authorities moved the tractor-trailer and cleaned up the debris.
