Oilfield Fatalities

Houston has one of the most employees in the oilfield industry, especially in offshore jobs. The majority of Houston news is from the oil and gas industry. In September, the Houston Chronicle reported that while workplace deaths drop, the oilfield industry fatalities remain higher in Texas than in other profession from 2007-2011. Fatality statistics show an average of 39 oilfield workers are killed a year. OSHA organized an investigation on at least 80 cases that did not include job-related traffic accident.
